Innovation Partnerships, a unit of the Office of the Vice President for Research at the University of Michigan, contracts with E-Lucid to provide a portfolio website (“Site”) with licensing and communication functionalities using the E-Lucid platform.

Personal Information

Through this website, E-Lucid collects certain personal information from visitors who wish to send inquiries, receive information, or license University of Michigan technologies. E-Lucid stores this information on its servers and may share this data with Innovation Partnerships via their access to the E-Lucid software application or by some other form, such as written reports or by email. How Innovation Partnerships uses this data is governed by University of Michigan privacy policies, linked below. E-Lucid will only use this information on behalf of Innovation Partnerships and not for E-Lucid's own or other purposes.

Payment Information

In connection with payment upon execution of a license through this Site (“Site Product”), you may be required to provide personal information, including your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card and billing information (collectively, “Personal Financial Information”) to an independent third party selected by, but not affiliated with, Innovation Partnerships (“Payment Service”). Where the Payment Service is responsible for collecting, transmitting and/or processing your Personal Financial Information and, in some instances, for fulfilling your order, all payment obligations for the Site Product shall be governed by the terms of use/service and privacy statement of the Payment Service. If you pay for a license through the Site you are warranting that you are authorized to make the payment using the form of payment that you provide to the Payment Service. You must be 18 years of age or older to make payment for a Site Product.

Innovation Partnerships makes no warranty and accepts no liability for any loss or damages whatsoever, relating to or in connection with your payment related to a Site Product with the Payment Service. Innovation Partnerships provides no refunds for, makes no warranty for, and accepts no liability regarding payments you make on the Site. You are solely responsible for any and all transactions using your Personal Financial Information, including, but not limited to, any and all charges. You acknowledge and agree that in the event the Payment Service experiences a data breach that affects your Personal Financial Information, Innovation Partnerships and University of Michigan will in no way be responsible or liable to you for any such breach.

Innovation Partnerships will not store any record of Personal Financial Information related to transactions you make through the Site. You should therefore maintain records of all your transactions. If you have any questions regarding your transactions or believe that there is an error or unauthorized transaction or activity associated with transactions using your Personal Financial Information, you must contact the Payment Service.

Privacy Policy

Innovation Partnerships is requesting certain personal information (name, address, email address and phone number) so that we may contact you to provide details to fulfill your order, respond to your inquiry, and/or for future communications via email. You are not required to provide this information. However, without it we will not be able to contact you regarding additional information that may be needed to complete license execution or respond to your request or inquiry. Innovation Partnerships may also use individual or summary data for data analysis, reporting, and other non-commercial purposes.

The policy of the University of Michigan is that, in collecting, using, and releasing information about individuals associated with the university, the university will strive to protect individual privacy, to use information only for the purpose for which it was collected, and to inform individuals of the personal information about them that is being collected, used, or released. The university will not release sensitive information without the consent of the individual involved unless required to do so by law. Individuals who provide personal information to the university are expected to provide truthful and timely information and to inform the university of any known inaccuracies in the university’s records. Appropriate guidelines will be employed to implement this policy.
