OVERVIEW

These transgenic mice (commonly referred to as podocin-Cre mice) have expression of Cre recombinase directed to podocytes within kidney glomeruli by the human podocin (NPHS2) promoter/enhancer region and may be useful in generating Cre-lox conditional knockouts for studying the role of podocyte nephrobiology in renal disorders.
