BACKGROUND

These are evidence-based practice educational training toolkit materials developed to teach healthcare professionals and educators the foundational principles in conducting telehealth assessments, maintaining security/privacy, distinguishing patients that are appropriate for a telehealth visit, how to improve patient access to telehealth, telehealth rules, regulations and reimbursement policies, telehealth equipment, and how to conduct a telehealth simulation. Given the rise in telehealth since the pandemic, it is imperative healthcare professionals and educators seeing patients this way have a comprehensive skill set to be able to do so efficiently and effectively. This program has been designed to educate and teach on the necessary skills for conducting telehealth visits so that providers and educators are able to better care for patients and teach students to care for patients via this expanding care delivery model.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The VisualVisits™ physical assessment telehealth training video series has been created as an educational resource based on evidence-based practices. It is crafted to instruct healthcare professionals (CNM, DO, MD, NP, PA, RN), educators, and medical and nursing students. The goal is not merely to acquaint them with the basic principles of conducting telehealth visits; it is to significantly extend their capability in telehealth by including an array of physical assessments that can be effectively performed via videoconferencing. This training series includes ten modules covering the seven body systems in addition to additional foundational telehealth training.
