Hammoud Lab: Stem Cell Innovations for Male Infertility
Dr. Saher Hammoud’s laboratory is transforming the future of reproductive medicine and male infertility therapy.
Her team has pioneered advanced protocols for producing functional human Sertoli cells, testis-like organoids, and fully engineered miniature testis tissues, all derived from pluripotent stem cells. These innovations represent a leap towards accessible, ethical cell therapies, scalable drug screening platforms, and personalized regenerative solutions. Their inventions open doors to repairing or rejuvenating damaged gonadal tissue, treating otherwise untreatable male infertility, and safely screening pharmaceuticals for reproductive toxicity—all through next-generation, laboratory-manufactured testis cells. Potential applications span reproductive medicine, cell transplantation, drug discovery, and hormone therapies.
